The mission
The Autonomous Region of Madeira is undergoing an unprecedented energy transformation:
- Renewable share hit a record 36.4% in 2025.
- Regional target: 50% by 2026, 55-60% by 2030.
- 60 MW solar tender (December 2025) will multiply medium-scale photovoltaic projects on the island.
- Isolated island grid, with no mainland connection, makes energy security and cost structurally critical.
What is missing is not technology. It is rigorous, independent technical engineering: the kind that puts the right technology in the right place, correctly sized, properly supervised on site, and aligned with the requirements of available funding programmes.
RenovRAM exists to meet that need, under the motto "Smart Energy. Efficient Future".
Who is behind RenovRAM
Nuno André Vieira Jorge - Mechanical Engineer and founder of RenovRAM. Full member of the Portuguese Order of Engineers, professional licence no. 88156.
Over 12 years of solid experience in international engineering projects, construction and operations management, focused on the energy transition and sustainability of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. He combines advanced technical skills in electromechanical systems with a strategic view of operational efficiency, reinforced by a postgraduate degree in Business Management from ISCTE Business School.
Professional background
Nuno's career spans renewable energy, construction supervision and mechanical design, in Portugal and abroad:
- 2023-2025 · Operations and Logistics Coordinator - Rubis Energia Portugal / Spelta. Operations management, maintenance and emergency planning for energy infrastructure.
- 2020-2023 · Offshore Renewable Energy Project Engineer - Hexicon Madeira / Innovakeme. The OIPS project (Offshore Island Porto Santo), with EEM and AREAM: floating wind platforms, metocean data analysis, technical-economic viability and funding applications.
- 2019-2020 · Electromechanical Supervision Engineer - Calheta hydroelectric plant extension. Supervision of Pelton turbine, alternator and auxiliary-system assembly.
- 2016-2018 · Product Design Engineer - Albright International (United Kingdom). Design and prototyping of electromechanical contactors.
- 2013-2016 · Mechanical Project Engineer - EFACEC Engenharia e Sistemas. Gas, steam and diesel thermal power plants; commissioning in Inhambane (Mozambique).

What sets us apart
RenovRAM operates as Owner's Engineer: the analysis serves the outcome of the client's project, not the sale of any specific product.
In practice
- System sizing optimised for real performance. The right system for the actual load, not the one with the highest margin.
- On-site technical supervision. Independent quality control of execution, with a technical eye trained on large-scale international projects.
- Funding recommendations based on programme criteria. Madeira 2030, CRIEE, EU funds: technical studies prepared to pass banking and administrative scrutiny.
Collaborative model
RenovRAM works alongside the installers, suppliers and contractors of the client's choosing. The technical analysis remains independent of the execution channel: engineering rigour is guaranteed while commercial options stay open.
What we do not do
To make the scope clear:
- We do not install photovoltaic panels.
- We do not assemble electromechanical systems.
- We do not sell equipment.
If execution is required, RenovRAM helps specify what should be installed and select and supervise whoever executes it. Execution stays with specialised contractors.
This clear delineation of roles is what underpins the independence of the analysis.
Headquarters and service area
Based in Funchal, RenovRAM serves the entire Autonomous Region of Madeira, including Porto Santo for projects that justify travel. For technical-economic studies and funding application preparation, it also works remotely.
