About RenovRAM
The mission
The Autonomous Region of Madeira is undergoing an unprecedented energy transformation. The renewable share hit a record 36.4% in 2025, the regional target is 50% by 2026 and 55-60% by 2030. The 60 MW solar tender launched in December 2025 will multiply the number of medium-scale photovoltaic projects on the island. At the same time, the existing building stock, built with traditional techniques in a humid subtropical climate, represents a vast efficiency opportunity that remains largely untapped.
What is missing is not technology. It is rigorous, independent technical engineering: the kind that puts the right technology in the right place, correctly sized, properly supervised on site, and aligned with the requirements of available funding programmes.
RenovRAM exists to meet that need.
Who is behind RenovRAM
The promoter is a mechanical engineer and member of the Ordem dos Engenheiros (Order of Engineers), with over 12 years of experience in international-scale renewable energy projects - hydropower and offshore wind. To that technical foundation he added a postgraduate degree in Business Management, enabling him to combine engineering rigour with the technical-economic analysis that investment projects and funding applications require.
He is also a CCP-certified trainer with experience in demanding professional contexts, which is reflected in the way he communicates complex technical concepts clearly and usefully to clients.
A native of Madeira, he has first-hand knowledge of the regional regulatory environment, the entities involved in projects (AREAM, EEM, IP-RAM, IEM), and the specific logistical challenges of an ultraperipheral island geography.
What sets us apart
RenovRAM operates as your Owner's Engineer: our analysis serves the outcome of the client's project, not the sale of any specific product. In practice this means:
- System sizing optimised for real performance. The right system for the actual load, not the system with the highest margin.
- On-site technical supervision. Independent quality control of execution, with a technical eye trained on large-scale international projects.
- Funding recommendations based on programme criteria. Madeira 2030, CRIEE, EU funds - technical studies prepared to pass banking and administrative scrutiny.
Our approach is collaborative: we work alongside the installers, suppliers and contractors of the client's choosing, while keeping the technical analysis independent of the execution channel.
What we do not do
We do not install photovoltaic panels, we do not fit HVAC systems, we do not sell battery storage. If you need execution, we will help you specify what should be installed and select and supervise whoever executes it - execution stays with specialised contractors.
This clear delineation of roles is what underpins the independence of our analysis.
Headquarters and service area
Based in Funchal, we serve the entire Autonomous Region of Madeira, including Porto Santo for projects that justify travel. For technical-economic studies and funding application preparation, we also work remotely.
